Regarding the exhibition

The liberation war holds a profound significance in the lives of all Bangladeshis, serving as a wellspring of inspiration and creativity. Through the history of sacrifice and struggle of the people, we find guidance and motivation in our journey of self-exploration and introspection.

The group exhibition, In Search of Roots, beautifully captures and reflects this discernment. The participating artists passionately depict the remarkable sacrifices made by our sisters and mothers during the liberation war. Their artworks pay homage to the courage and resilience displayed by these incredible women during those turbulent times.

What made the group exhibition even more remarkable is that all the artists in the group, Colours, are women. With a deep sense of enthusiasm, creativity, and affection, they skillfully painted the narrative of sacrifice and struggle that unfolded. Their artworks captured the essence of the historical events, evoking emotions and inspiring viewers to reflect upon the sacrifices made by women during that period.

The exhibition will not only showcase the talent and skill of these women artists but also serve as a reminder of the critical role played by women in shaping history. It celebrates their contributions and provides a platform for their voices to be heard and appreciated. Their works serve as a testament to the enduring spirit of the Bangladeshi people and the profound impact that the Liberation War continues to have on the nation’s collective consciousness.

The exhibition will be open to all till 17 July 2023.
