China launches new space satellite

China launched a rocket carrying Long March-6 to put a new experimental satellite into space.
The rocket carrying the Shiyan-25 test satellite took off from the Taiwan Satellite Center in northern Shaanxi Province at 11:18 a.m. Beijing time.
The satellite has successfully entered the predetermined orbit, reports Xinhua News.
The satellite will primarily be used to test new Earth-observation technology. It was the 477th flight mission of the Long March rocket series.
