‘Smart parking system’ will be launched to solve the problem of private car parking in Bangladesh’s Dhaka.
Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has taken this exceptional initiative of providing car parking services through the mobile app. It is expected to launch very soon, read a media release.
DNCC will provide roadside parking through the app for an hourly fee to prevent random parking. The car owner or driver can see where parking slots are available nearby through the app. Later one can go there and park the car. Already, the organization has also determined the parking space on some roads of Gulshan as a pilot project. However, the project is yet to receive approval from the Government. The approval is expected to be received soon.
In this regard, DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam said, ‘We have undertaken this smart parking project to solve car parking and traffic congestion everywhere. It has been prepared and sent to the Government. Once approved, we will start it as a pilot project in certain areas first. If successful, we will introduce a ‘smart parking system’ in other areas later.’
