Emiliano Martínez confirms Dhaka visit

Argentina’s World Cup-winning goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez is coming to Kolkata in July 2023. During this visit, he also expressed interest in coming to Bangladesh’s Dhaka.

The good news about Martinez’s visit to Bangladesh was given by Shatdru Dutt, founder of Kolkata-based sports promoter company Shatdru Dutt Associates. This time the Aston Villa goalkeeper has confirmed this news himself.

Martinez posted a post on social media from his verified Facebook page on Monday (May 29). In this post, the 30-year-old star said that the thrill of meeting the fans of Bangladesh is touching his heart.

Argentina won the World Cup title after 36 years in Qatar. Goalkeeper Martinez played great like Messi-Alvarez in the world final for the third time. Due to this he also received the Golden Gloves Award of the World Cup.

Martinez will visit the Indian subcontinent from July 3 to 5. The best goalkeeper of the World Cup is scheduled to come to Dhaka for one day in this tour.

Martinez said, this time he is the chief guest of a charity football match at Mohun Bagan club ground. He will participate in various charitable activities. He has some programs with fans. In that post, Martinez talked about meeting the fans of Bangladesh.

His agent Shatdru Dutta will visit Dhaka on Wednesday. Martinez is scheduled to hold a press conference the following day to officially announce his visit. Initially, he said that he will come to Dhaka on July 3. The last two days will be in Kolkata.

Thanking Shatdru, Martinez wrote at the end of his account of his activities, ‘I know there is a huge fan base of Argentina in Kolkata and Bangladesh. I am thrilled to meet them. I love you.’

In the last World Cup in Qatar, Martinez was one of the heroes of Argentina’s victory against France. When the score was 3-3 in extra time, he made an incredible left-footed save from Randall Kolo Muanyi’s shot on goal. Martinez contributed to the trophy by holding off Kingsley Coman in the tiebreaker as well.
