NK fires short-range ballistic missile

North Korea (NK) launched two short-range ballistic missiles. It was their latest missile launch in recent weeks.

The South Korean military said this, reports AFP.

South Korea and the US concluded their largest joint military exercise in five years. During the joint drill between Seoul and Washington, NK conducted a ballistic missile test.

Meanwhile, NK views all such exercises by the US and South Korea as pre-aggression preparations. Pyongyang has repeatedly warned that it will take ‘unstoppable’ measures to respond to these exercises.

South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said, ‘Our military detected two short-range ballistic missiles launched from the Jungwa area of North Hwanghae Province at 7:47 a.m. (2247 GMT) in the direction of the East Sea. It is called the Sea of Japan.’

Meanwhile, Japan’s Ministry of Defense has also confirmed NK’s missile launch. Both missiles are believed to have flown in an erratic trajectory before falling outside Japan’s critical economic zone.
