The death toll from the flood at Kentucky in the United States has risen to thirty.
On Monday morning (August 1), the governor of Kentucky state, Andy Besier, told the media.
Renters and homeowners affected by flooding can apply for disaster assistance, he added.
Hundreds of people have been rescued using boats and helicopters since the flood started last Wednesday (July 27) evening.
However, rescue teams faced difficulty to reach people due to damaged roads.
The Appalachia region of eastern Kentucky has previously suffered extensive damage from flash floods.
Moreover, about 60 people died in the December 2021 tornado in this state.
